WSPR - 80m BAND - 24/09/2017~29/09/2017

WSPR 80m (3.5 - 3.7 MHz) band activity data recorded for a 48 hour period on the 24/09/2017~29/09/2017

Data from the WSPR web site relating to monitoring and transmission from VK6YSF Northam Western Australia.

WSPR Frequency: Dial 3.5926 MHz USB (occupied bandwidth 3.5940 - 3.5942 MHz)

Grid location: OF88II

Local Time = +8:00 hours (0:00 = 8:00AM)

Transmission Power 37 dBm (5Watts)

SSN (Sun Spot Number): 22 - 38

Equipment: TS-930 at 5W, Radio computer interface

Antenna#1: Multi-band dipole with T-Match tuner and 4-1 Current Balun

Antenna#2: 'T" Antenna configuration with T-Match tuner

Antenna#3: 'L" Antenna configuration with T-Match tuner

This exercise was to compare the Multi-band dipole antenna with the same antenna configured as a  'T" Antenna and configured as an  'L" Antenna for operations on the 80m amateur band.

The main HF antenna is an All Band Doublet feed with ladder line and matched with a T-Match antenna tuner including a 1:4 current balun giving access to all HF band including the 160m band. With a view to get better performance particularly on lower frequency bands this antenna was reconfigured as a type of Marconi ‘T’ Antenna by simple bonding the ladder line in the shack and connecting directly to the T-Match antenna tuner and an ‘L’ Antenna by simple connecting to one side of the ladder line in the shack and connecting directly to the T-Match antenna tuner.

WSPR 80m band activity data recorded for a 5 x 24 hour period between 24/09/2017~29/09/2017 showing SNR against UTC time, Vertical axis = dB below the noise floor.
